Recently, Institut f r Deutschlandstudien of the School of International Studies, ZJU and Technische Universit t Berlin, Germany, reached a consensus on an international conjoint Master s degree program. From September 2010, both sides will recommend excellent candidates to participate in the program annually.
The recommended candidates will study in both Hangzhou and Berlin for the two-and-half-year conjoint program. Upon completion of the program, Chinese students will receive a Master s degree of German language and literature at Zhejiang University and a Master's degree in communication and language at Technische Universit t Berlin. German students will be awarded a Master's degree in communication and language at Technische Universit t Berlin and a Master's degree in Chinese Studies at ZJU. In addition, the two universities also have reached intent to launch an international conjoint undergraduate degree program in near future.
Both conjoint degree programs have received fund from German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). DAAD will annually endow full scholarship for 5 undergraduate students and 3 MA candidates from each university. Besides, DAAD will also subsidize the academic exchange and communication of professors of both sides.
Technische Universit t Berlin, Germany is one of the top five engineering universities in Germany, also Germany's largest industrial university with the highest degree of internationalization. About 20% of its students are international students. As early as in 1984, Zhejiang University established the first international intercollegiate cooperation program with Technische Universit t Berlin.
