CHINA - An official from China's Ministry of Agriculture said the ministry will allocate more subsidies nationwide in a bid to build more standardised pig farms, aiming to stabilise live hog production.
This year, the central government will spend CNY 2.5 billion (USD 368 million) to set up 500 standardised demonstration farms and earmark CNY 650 million (USD 95.5 million) subsidy for quality pig breeding programmes in more than 400 counties across China.
Meanwhile, the official said the government will continue the cash reward policy towards major pig producing counties for a total of CNY 2.1 billion (USD309 million), reports Asian Agribiz.
