On May 31, Niu Dun, Vice Minister of Agriculture met with Yuriy Kostenko, the visiting Ukrainian Ambassador to China to exchange views on bilateral agricultural cooperation and the upcoming second meeting of agricultural cooperation working group.
Vice Minister Niu Dun and the Ambassador spoke highly about the bilateral relations and reviewed the agricultural cooperation between the two countries.
The Ambassador pointed out that the Ukrainian side attached great significance to the second meeting of China-Ukraine Agricultural Cooperation Working Group which Vice Minister Niu Dun would attend in June and informed Chinese side of the designed ideas and preparation of this meeting. Kostenko said they would like to discuss with China about the exploration and utilization of bio-energy, soil conservation, agricultural machinery, and trade of agricultural products at the working group meeting. The Ambassador would like to attend the meeting, witnessing stable development of the bilateral agricultural cooperation.
Vice Minister Niu Dun appreciated the support from the Ambassador and the Ukrainian side, agreeing with Kostenko on the suggestions for the second working group meeting. Niu Dun pointed out that the agricultural authorities of the two countries should enhance communication, speed up the preparation work, safeguard a success of the meeting, and contribute to further development of the bilateral relations.
Officials from Department of International Cooperation attended the meeting.
