Now is the busy season of summer for agriculture. Local authorities try their best to achieve a bumper harvest and organize farmers to sow in sunny days. As of June 16, grain crops that had been sowed reached 150 million mu, 32.4% of the planned total; summer cotton was 2.45 million mu, 40.9% of the planned total. Among the grain crops, summer corn reached 59.2 million mu, 37% of the planned total; the mid-season rice reached 69 million mu, 59% of the planned total; soybeans reached 7.1 million mu, 17.7% of the planned total; potatoes reached 12.3 million mu, 32.5% of the planned total.
According to the report submitted by 7 inspection panels, there are four characteristics of this year s summer production:
1.Good moisture in the soil;
2.Rich supply of agricultural means of production;
3.Fast sowing; and
4. Quality sowing.
