Changsha Ecological Zoo Brings in Rare Animals to Welcome Spring Festival
The alpacas move into Changsha Ecological Zoo on the afternoon of Jan. 28.

Recently, Changsha Ecological Zoo has successively brought in a variety of rare animals to welcome the upcoming Spring Festival.

It introduced 3 female and 5 male black bears from Nanning Zoo in Guangxi Province on the morning of Jan. 28. Each weighing about 120 kilograms, the 8 bears will be accommodated in the bear park along the automobile lane.

On the afternoon of the same day, 10 alpacas, weighing 70 to 80 kilograms, set their feet in Hunan Province for the first time and also became the inhabitants of Changsha Ecological Zoo. It is learnt that alpacas originate from the Andes (with the height ranging from 3000 to 4800 meters) in the South America. The alpaca has a gentle temperament, and its lifespan varies from 20 to 25 years.

A group of precious animals under the first-grade state protection, such as the black bear, the rhesus, and the swan will arrive at the zoo in succession since Jan. 28.
