Jiyang County Plans to Plant 1 Million Trees This Year

To meet requirements of building a "National Forest City", this year Jiyang County plans to build 100m-wide greenbelts on both sides of national roads and provincial roads, 50m-wide on both sides of county-level roads and 30m-wide on both sides of town-level frame roads, to build 100m-wide shelter belt outside the embankment of Yellow River and on both sides of Tuhaihe River, to build 50m-wide shelter belt on both sides of Xingdugan River, Dehuixinhe River and Dasihe River, and to build 30m-wide shelter belt on both sides of other river channels and ditches.

Meanwhile, each town should build high-standard farm forest network and complete the construction of two green model villages. It is predicted that in the whole year the newly-built protective forest would be 10 thousand mu, farm forest would be 50 thousand mu and the trees planted would reach 1 million mu.
