Wang Liang Requires to Promote City Water-saving Work to a New Level

On the conference of city water conservation held in Jinan recently, Wang Liang, executive vice mayor of Jinan required each department to strengthen sense of urgency and responsibility in water conservation so as to cherish the precious spring water and provide safety water supply for the scientific and harmonious development of Jinan.

Firstly, improving utilization efficiency of industrial water resources. Jinan is going to preferentially develop products and industries that need little water usage, encourage new industries with low-carbon economy as its main features, prohibit industries demanding high water consumption, weed out products and industries of high water consumption, and develop constructions of water-saving enterprises and cities.

Secondly, strengthening daily management of water conservation. Jinan is going to publicize application of new technology, new process and new equipment, enhance water use management, accelerate transforming process of domestic water meter, promote application of water-saving devices and accelerate facilities construction for usage of water or rainwater in the city.

Thirdly, widening the management scope of water conservation in the city. Jinan is going to make out an execute solution of water conservation as soon as possible and bring new eastern area, new western city and high-tech zone etc. into this scope so as to deeply carry out water conservation in the whole city.

Fourthly, strengthening water-saving sense of the whole society. Jinan is going to develop a variety of publicity and educational activities of water conservation in order to strengthen water-saving sense of the whole nation and form a well atmosphere that everyone cherishes water, saves water and protects springs .
