People's Life Gets Better

XJ government promised at the annual sessions of NPC XJ Committee and CPPCC XJ Committee that, the region will further the herdsmen resettlement and hydraulic projects, in a move to help the 1.5 mln households of farmers and herdsmen get rich.

On Thursday, bidding farewell to the life in low conditioned area, Mijit Sulaiman in Wensu County, Aksu Prefecture moved into a new low-rent house located in the center of the county. Like him, totally 470 households have moved into new houses under the help of local government.

Kuqa County adopted different measures in the herdsmen resettlement project according to farmers' willing. While improving farmer's living conditions, the concerned departments also consider their further development.

"The government helps us build up grape trellis, greenhouse and cow pen, and I also raise some pigeons. It is helpful for us get rich."

In 2011, Xinjiang plans to complete anti-quake houses construction for 300,000 households in rural areas. Meanwhile, those houses will be equipped with facilities including water, electricity and heat supply system. In addition, public service facilities like medical treatment center, school and entertainment room will be built. In next 5 years, anti-quake housing and reconstruction of dilapidated houses projects will be carried out, aiming to help 1.5 million households of farmers and herdsmen get rich after resettled.
