GDUFS Held the National French Professional Academic Seminar

December 2nd- On November 26th and 27th, GDUFS North Campus witnessed the grand opening of the National French Professional Academic Seminar. The seminar was hosted by a Steering Committee with members from the Foreign Language Teaching in French Sub-Committee and the Ministry of Education. It was organized to discuss the "new situation of foreign language studies," with the goal to bring studying and teaching in French to a higher level.

Experts in French gathered on the Seminar

Cao Deming, the President of ShanghaiInternationalStudiesUniversity, and Xu Jun, Executive Vice President of the GraduateSchool at NanjingUniversity, attended the seminar. Fifteen experts in French from around the country were present. In addition, President Zhong Weihe of GDUFS and former Party Secretary Xu Zhenhua were also present.

At the beginning of the seminar Mr. Zhong made a speech where he sincerely welcomed the experts. In 1998, the seminar was also held at GDUFS. At that time, the group had only 8 members. Now with the French education system gradually maturing, the number of participants has reached 18 people!

Coinciding with the 45th anniversary celebration of GDUFS, Mr. Zhong expressed his sincere appreciation for the arrival of representatives from fraternity schools He pointed out that some represented schools were among the 211 Project for Higher Education. Their arrival was significant in that it expanded the seminar discussions. Since the experts have experience in building 211 projects, they were able to discuss promoting the launching of 211 projects at GDUFS.

The two-day meeting provided an excellent platform to communicate the language knowledge, discipline teaching, classroom teaching, and theories in French. It promoted the teaching of French, the optimization and development of the discipline and the hope for expansion of French studies in China.
