From November 10 to 11, SMU 2010 Track and Field Meeting was held at the stadium of Lingang new campus. Prof. Kong Fancun, SMU Vice President, Prof. Xiao Baojia, SMU Vice President, and heads of departments concerned, teachers representatives and all students attended the opening ceremony of this event.

Prof. Kong said in the opening ceremony, the annual sports meeting had been an important stage for teachers and students to show their passions and enhance communications. Prof. Xiao announced the commencement of sports meeting.

Before the competitions, performances such as dragon and lion dances, aerobics demonstrations, Taiji fan, Military Boxing and group calisthenics performance were given by students.

In the sports meeting, students competitions were men and women 100m race, 400m race, 800m race, 1500m race, 4 100m Relay, 4 400m Relay, high jump, long jump and shot put. Competitions of teachers and staff were grouped into elder, adult and youth group, who were engaged in nearly 20 races including track and field race and fun race.
