Opening Ceremony for New Graduate Students

An opening ceremony was held for the new graduate students on September 14 of 2006.

CNU Party Secretary Zhang Xue, President Xu Xiangyuan, Deputy Secretary Chen Ning, Vice Chancellor Liu Xincheng, Wang Wanliang, Gong Huili and President Assistant Gao Wensheng and other senior administrators attended the gathering for the more than 1,300 incoming students.

In his welcoming address, President Xu gave congratulations to the seated students. He encouraged the students to make clear their academic direction, develop their innovative spirit, improve the academic capability, and work hard in their research and studies.

In order to encourage the newly enrolled graduates, CNU set up a special scholarship. More than 50 graduates achieved this scholarship on the ceremony.
