The Calligraphy Exhibition of Teachers and Students from the Calligraphy Institute Inaugurated in China Art Gallery

On the morning of November 22nd, the exhibition of calligraphy works of the teachers and graduates from the Research Institute for Chinese Calligraphy Culture of our university was inaugurated in China Art Gallery in order to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and display the calligraphy education achievements and seek confirmation from every walk of life,

The subject of Calligraphy in the Research Institute for Chinese Calligraphy Culture in Capital Normal University is not only a characteristic discipline, but also a superior discipline in this university. In 1985, Professor Ouyang Zhongshi, a famous calligrapher and an educator of Calligraphy, started to set up the major of Calligraphy. In 2005, he established the Research Institute for Chinese Calligraphy Culture, which was the first School (Department) level-based organizational system in China's colleges and universities.

The discipline leader Professor Mr. Ouyang Zhongshi is a famous scholar, calligrapher and educator of Calligraphy, a membership of the Central Research Institute of Culture & History, and a member of CPPCC. For over 20 years, Professor Mr. Ouyang Zhongshi has led our teachers to positively exploring the road of Calligraphy teaching and seeking the common development with the people from the fields of calligraphy and education, which have made a very important contribution to the education of Chinese Calligraphy.
