On January 12th, a ceremony was held, in which the president of Capital Normal University Mr. Liu Xincheng conferred Professor Conrad C. Labandeira the honor as the visiting professor of the College of Life Science. Professor Conrad C. Labandeira is the Chairman of Paleontologic Division from the US National Museum of Natural History, the Curator of the Fossil Anthropod Museum and Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C. and the Vice Chairman of the Society for Palaeoentomology.
The president of CNU Mr. Liu Xincheng awarded the Letter of Appointment as CNU s visiting professor to Professor Conrad C. Labandeira, and held discussions with Professor Conrad C. Labandeira and Professor Mr. Ren Dong. Mr. Liu hoped that the Key Laboratory of Insect Evolution & Environment Change could take this opportunity to advance the cooperation with the US National Museum of Natural History as soon as possible, to enhance the communication with the international intellectual circles so as to make our university progress continuously in scientific research.
Professor Conrad C. Labandeira happily accepted this invitation, expressed his thanks, and would like to continue to strengthen the cooperative study with our university.
The visit from Professor Conrad C. Labandeira would further enrich the communication between our university and the international intellectual circles, and promote the jointly technological development of our university with the Paleontologic Division in the US National Museum of Natural History, which would play a positive role in enhancing the construction of the Key Laboratory of Insect Evolution & Environment Change, building up a technological innovation platform of co-evolution between insects and plants, and cultivating high level graduate students.
