On Jan. 4, the mobilization meetings of Grade 2009 student military training were held on SCUT North and South Campuses.
It is reported that 6,201 Grade 2009 students will take part in the training which lasts three weeks. The trainers include 183 soldiers from Guangzhou Command College and 10 National Defense students (NDS) from SCUT School of NDS Education.

Facing the tough training, fresh students were looking forward to it eagerly. A student surnamed Wang, who comes from the School of Electric Power and has been admiring the military career since young, said that he couldn't wait as he has been expecting the training since his college life started. Xiao Xian, a delicate girl from the Pearl Delta area, said that she was ready for the tough training days.

She hoped that through training she would become stronger, more confident and independent. When talking about the H1N1 flu, she said with a smile, "That is not what I am afraid of, as I know there will be some much bigger challenges in the future."
