The Student Orienteering Association of China (SOCN) confers the title of "National Student Orienteering Sports Demonstrative University" upon Hunan University.

The 1st National University Cross-country Orienteering Race Tour was held in Hunan University, the only designated state-level university student orienteering training center, on the morning of Sept. 12.

Hosted by the Student Orienteering Association of China (SOCN) and organized by Hunan University, this sub-race has attracted nearly 900 athletes.

As the largest and most widely student-participating orienteering competition, this race tour themed with "Orienteering sports entering campus" fully displayed the development concept of "Orienteering taking root on campus and educating people oriented".

There are two events in this sub-race: point race and team-up. The top three of each event will represent Hunan at the grand finals of the race tour to be held in Sanya in southern Hainan Province this November.
