6 Profs Win Contribution Award for Returned Overseas Chinese

The 10th Communication Conference for Overseas Returnees High-tech Talents and the 3rdReturned Overseas Chinese Innovative Achievements were held on August 24 in Beijing's Great Hall of the People.

Six HUST professors are Innovative Talents Award winners including Prof. Wang Qing of the School of Life Science and Technology, Prof. Li Liang of the High Magnetic Field Center, Prof. Tan Bi'en of the School of Chemical and Chemistry Engineering, and the Innovative Achievements Award winner Prof. Jin Hai of the School of Computer Science and Technology.The number of HUST winners ranks top in China.

About 155 overseas returnees won the title of Innovative Talents Award and 75 items were awarded Innovative Achievements Award. 155 winners are high level talented personnel attracted by Thousand Talents Program and Hundred Talents Program, most of whom are the mainstay of institutes and higher education institutions, directors of key laboratories or chief executives of enterprises. They undertake a large number of national key scientific researches, covering biology, medicine, chemistry, physics and other research areas.

75 innovative achievements come from both institutions and enterprises, encompassing various areas like computer science, chemistry, medicine and biotechnology. These achievementsfill the domestic gap and even reach the world advanced level.
