The Memorial Ceremony of the 20th Anniversary of "the Sino-Japanese Oriental Cherry Forest" Was Held

At the invitation of Wuxi s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the 118-member 23rd delegation of the Japanese Sino-Japanese Oriental Cherry Forest , paid a visit to Jiangnan University, headed by Mr. Tianfeng and Mr. Keji, President of the association for the preservation of Sino-Japanese Oriental Cherry Forest on the morning of June 24th.

. They were shown around the campus by students of Japanese Department of School of Foreign Studies by vehicles. The memorial ceremony of the completion of the 20th anniversary of the Sino-Japanese Oriental Cherry Forest was held in the Student Activity Center on the north campus. Lei Huanwen, Honorary President of Wuxi s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, gave a speech at the ceremony, during which he fully affirmed the vital part that the forest plays in promoting the friendship between China and Japan, expressed his appreciation for Japanese friends care for the forest, conveyed his admiration towards the good they have done, and hoped this kind of activity would last for a long time.

Besides, Japanese artists and students from Musicology Department of School of Humanities performed the traditional classical music. The melodious sound of the piano, and sweet songs won thunderous applauses from the audience. The outstanding performance and high quality of our students was highly appreciated by the delegation.
