In April, the producers price for manufactured goods (PPI) rose by 1.9 percent over the same month of last year, purchasing prices for raw materials, fuels and power rose by 4.9 percent. Producers price for means of production rose by 2.6 percent over last April. Of which, prices for mining and quarrying industry, raw materials industry rose correspondingly up by 12.1 percent and 5.4 percent; that of machining industry was down by 0.1 percent compared with the same month of the previous year. Price for means of consumer goods was down by 0.4 percent, year-on-year. Of which, the price for food decreased 0.9 percent; for clothing and commodities rose by 1.2 percent and 0.5 percent, while that of durable consumer goods dropped by 2.0 percent. In terms of categories: --Producers price for crude oil rose by 19.3 percent over the same month of the previous year, its impact on the general level of producers price for manufactured goods rose by 0.6 percent. The prices for oil products, such as gasoline, kerosene and diesel oil were rose by 22.9 percent, 25.5 percent and 20.1 percent. --Producers price for polystyrene and terylene dropped by 9.4 percent and 7.1 percent compared with last April, while price for latex rose by 2.9 percent, year-on-year. --Producers price for mining and cleaning industry rose by 5.4 percent, of which, producers price for crude coal rose by 5.3 percent. --Producers price for smelting and pressing of ferrous metals dropped by 9.2 percent, year-on-year. Of the total, producer s price for ordinary large rolled-steels, medium rolled-steels, small rolled-steels, wire rod and heavy steel plate correspondingly dropped by 9.6 percent, 11.3 percent, 6.1 percent, 11.8percent and 16.7 percent. --Producers price for smelting and pressing of nonferrous metals increased 16.6 percent compared with the same month last year, the increase of copper, aluminum, lead and nickel were within the range of 10.6 percent to 41.2 percent. Besides, wherein the purchasing price for raw materials, fuels and power products, the price for fuel and power, non ferrous metal materials increased 12.4 percent and 23.0 percent respectively, while purchasing price for ferrous metals and chemical materials decreased 3.6 percent and 0.3 percent.
