Recently, Huangpu Customs District seized 64.66 tons of smuggled palm oil in the Pearl River Estuary. The drop of the price of the palm oil in the international market in recent days forms a gap between the prices of domestic and foreign edible oil, which attributed to the resurgence of the smuggling activities. Huangpu Customs District enhanced its inspection on the fishing vessels that travel between Guangdong and Hong Kong SAR as well as between Guangdong and Macao SAR to crack down on such activities and protect market order.
