Sticking to Green Route, Ecological Cow Leads the Low-Carbon Lifestyle

From the last year s Davos Summit to the Copenhagen Summit, the topic of low-carbon always has been a hot issue. From the large aspect of the low-carbon economy and the low-carbon technology, to the small aspect of the low-carbon life, all the keywords which relate to the low-carbon frequently appear in the eyes of the Chinese people. Increasingly, we are surrounded by a low-carbon world, which makes people want to pay their own efforts on practicing the life and the development of the low-carbon.

Low-carbon life is not just a slogan, but it should be our life attitude. Today, low-carbon has extended to every aspect of our basic necessities of life: "Using the energy-saving lamps to replace the light bulbs, making the air conditioner 2 degrees lower, reducing the television time, washing face with the basin, persisting in the hand laundry", all of which are the little things we can easily achieve.

It is the little things that manifests our life attitudes at any moment. On January 21 of this year, a most authoritative and with the largest attendance specification domestic forum in the low-carbon field --- the "First Annual Conference of Low-carbon China Forum" was held in CPPCC conference hall.

By the compliment in low-carbon cycle economy, and the long-term and continuous green public welfare actions, Mengniu Dairy Group won the award of Low-carbon Contribution Enterprise .

Both the concepts of the sustainable development and the green ecology have made the consumers see clearly about the sense of mission and responsibility of Mengniu as an enterprise citizen. The cooperation with COFCO, entering the World s top 20 dairy companies, or achieving Created in China rather than Made in China , these all have shown us an image of a large and responsible enterprise.

In the heart of China Dairy Capital---Helingeer which is internationally recognized as the world s best grassland belt , Mengniu has built its own ecological dairy farm known as China s largest farm--- Auastasia International Dairy Farm which covers an area of 8848 mu. Here, the mild climate, abundant sunshine, and high-quality soil provide a wonderful space for the growth of the forage grass, and a beautiful home for cows.

Mengniu has always taken the good quality of the milk supply as an important guarantee for the development of the enterprise. They said, "No matter when, raw milk supply is the first priority of the dairy products. So only the good milk supply can make the high-quality milk products possible." Therefore, paying every possible effort to build the ecological dairy farm has become a difficult yet glorious task for every person at Mengniu.

More large-scale farms are under construction. Mengniu has always been adhering to the attitude of "raising cows like raising the children" so that there will be particularly strong nutrition genes in every drop of milk, and the milk nutrition and health will get more guarantee. It is not only to guarantee a good environment of cows, but also the food safety for consumers.

In addition, in order to respond to the theme of "low-carbon life", in each link of milk production and processing systems, Mengniu has paid attention to all aspects of resource conservation and waste recycling. Mengniu has built sewage disposal plant with a daily disposal capacity of 10,000 tons of sewage which has a leading position in China.

At the plant, the advanced multi-medium filter can produce 500 cubic meters softened water and 60 cubic meters pure water per hour. All processed sewage from production meets the first grade state effluent standard. Mengniu has invested RMB 8 million to rebuild Yuan River which can be directly used in agriculture irrigation and enterprise production after the treatment of precipitation and separation.

The data shows that Mengniu has accumulatively input RMB 400 million for the energy conservation and wastes reduction. Through building China's largest methane power plant, Mengniu has turned the cow excreta into the energy, and realized the reduction of 25,000 tons of CO2 each year. Through the practical green actions, Mengniu has turned the waste into the treasure, high-carbon" into the "low carbon" with the high-tech, and become a true pioneer of the "carbon" road.

We can believe that, through the effective integration of nature , ecology and the sustainable development , Mengniu will make more efforts and be more innovative and influent more national brands to show themselves in the "low-carbon age".
