Davos forum advocates sustainable growth, low carbon economy attracts wide attention

On September 15th, World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the New Champions (the Fourth Summer Davos Forum) was successfully concluded in Tianjian city. The theme of this year s meeting was Driving Growth through Sustainability. Transforming the model of economic growth and advocating environment friendship and exploring low carbon economic development model were topics of the meeting.

At present, China s economic model is improving from high energy consumption to low carbon, and green and low carbon has become the trend of modern economic objective for many countries development.

At present, Mengniu signed cooperation agreement with one of largest world s environmental protection organization WWF and joined the carbon emission reduction plan . In five years development in the future, Mengniu and WWF will jointly set various quantifiable standards and working procedures with China National Institute of Standardization and SGS company so that five years carbon emission target can be gradually realized. This will be the first carbon emission cutting plan from Chinese dairy industry.

Carbon emission reduction pioneer program is developed by WWF targeting at resolving climate change problems and seeking partners from global commercial industry. This program requires industrial leading participants to make promise of enormously cutting carbon emission and set long-term strategic carbon emission reduction with taking potential opportunities and cost of that reduction into consideration so that company development and enterprises social responsibility can be doubly realized.

Manager of carbon emission reduction program from WWF says that they sincerely welcome Mengniu to become the first dairy enterprise from China to self-examine the carbon emission volume made by it self.
