On Dec. 10, 2008, CNR signed a contract with MTR Corporation, Hong Kong for supply of 80 metro cars in the People s Great Hall in Beijing. The total contract value is 1.1 billion HK Dollars. CNR Changchun Railway Vehicle Co., Ltd. was awarded the Contract of manufacturing 10 world-class train-sets with type A high-strength light-weight stainless steel car-body. One train-set consist of 6 motor cars and 2 trailers. The life-time is 40 years. The Max. speed is 80 Km/h. The first train-set will be delivered in 2011 and the last one will be finished in 2012.
There are many VIP present in the ceremony, among them are: leaders from National Development and Reform commission, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, Jilin Province, The Ministry of Commerce and China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Machinery & Electronic Products.
This is the result of bid among French, Germany, Spanish, Korea and Japan. It is a symbolize that Chinese product have been accepted by international first class costumers.
