The Golden Bull Award 2008 , sponsored by China Securities Journal and powered by Value Tool Financial Valuation, was unveiled on May 15. As a result, CSR was ranked 12th among the top 100 winners.

According to China Securities Journal, the Golden Bull Award Indicator System assessed corporate business performance from the perspectives of scale, market value, growth and repayment for shareholders, and adopted four indictors-the operating revenue in 2008, the total market value of A shares by late 2008, the increases in operating revenue and net profit in recent three years and the overall rate of repayment for shareholders in the past three years.

The selection inspected 1,602 A-share listed companies. To make all indicators and data involved meaningful, it screened out the cases of nonstandard clear opinions on the financial report for 2008, the listed companies with financial data only effective for 2008, with poor business performance, with negative net profit in any year between 2005 and 2007 and without any stock exchange throughout 2008.

Following the five steps of preliminary screening above, a total of 871 samples were nominated. Then, the four indicators were weighed to produce a composite score, thereby working out the rankings of the top 100 Golden Bull Award winners.

Statistics have shown that the top 100 Golden Bull Award winners achieved a net profit of RMB 711.585 billion, total assets of RMB 29.847013 trillion and gross revenue of RMB 6.38994 trillion in 2008, accounting for 78.81%, 65.72% and 37.92% of all listed companies respectively.
