The International Steel and Metalworking Exposition Vietnam 2010 (ISME Vietnam 2010) was convened in Ho Chi Minh City from 8 Dec. to 11 Dec., 2010. Officials and distinguished guests present at the opening ceremony included: Vice Minister Nguyen Thanh Binh of Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade; Vice Chairman Nguyen Trung Tin of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Consul-General Xu Mingliang and Commercial Officer Wang Longhu of Chinese Consulate at Ho Chi Minh City; Vice Secretary-General Yang Zunqing of China Iron & Steel Industry Association; Mr. Chow Chonglong, Vice President of ASEAN Iron and Steel Industry Federation (AISIF); Mr. Pham Chicuong, Chairman of Vietnam Steel Association (VSA); Mr. Dinh Huytam, Vice Secretary-General of VSA; and Mr. Wikrom, president of Thailand Iron and Steel Industry Club (TISIG).
The exhibition of MCC Limited was organized by MCC Overseas Ltd., and participated by WISDRI Engineering & Research Incorporation Ltd. (WISDRI), Huatian Engineering & Technology Corporation of MCC (HTC) and BERIS Engineering & Research Corp. (BERIS). On behalf of MCC Limited, Yao Yihong, Assistant General Manager of MCC Overseas Ltd. made a presentation to the abovementioned officials and distinguished guests on the four major businesses of MCC Limited, as well as the implementation progress of the 2nd Phase of TISCO Expansion Works in Vietnam, which was contracted by MCC on an EPC basis.
The well-designed exhibition stand of MCC Limited attracted keen attention from the visitors. Officials and distinguished guests frequently inquired about various information. During the exhibition, representatives from quite a few famous steel works of Vietnam visited our booth, for instance, Vietnam Steel Corp., Vietnam South Iron & Steel Corp. and Vietnam Branch of Formosa Group.
The organizing committee of the exposition also hosted a seminar on Iron & Steel Industry of ASEAN and Vietnam, which was presided over by Vice Secretary-General Yang Zunqing of China Iron & Steel Industry Association. Vice President Chow Chonglong of AISIF made a briefing on the industrial information of ASEAN. Chairman Pham Chicuong of VSA gave a brief introduction to the market and information of relevant projects in Vietnam. During the exposition, MCC delegation conducted visits to the local well-known steel works, including Vietnam South Iron & Steel Corp., Vietnam Steel Holdings and Vietnam Branch of Pohang Steel.
This exposition was jointly hosted by China Iron & Steel Industry Association, AISIF and VSA. It is a major iron & steel trading and economic exchage activity held in overseas region by China Iron & Steel Industry Association and the foreign counterpartners. Taking advantage of the establishment of ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA), the purpose of this exposition is to expand the export market in ASEAN for Chinese steel technologies and products in an active, orderly and stable manner, as well as to increase the market share of Chinese steel technologies and products in ASEAN. In addition to MCC Group, over 20 large-sized steel works of China participated in this event, for instance, Baosteel, Baotou Iron & Steel Works, Anshan Iron & Steel Works, Maanshan Iron & Steel Works, Shougang, Wuhan Steel Works and TISCO.
For this exposition, MCC Overseas Ltd. spared no efforts in preparation, design and arrangement of booth and publicity materials, with a target to give an active promotion on the brand and achievements of MCC Limited. To this end, WISDRI, BERIS and HTC, as well as the Office of MCC Overseas Ltd. in Vietnam, also extended great support and coordination. Through this event, MCC Limited achieved further enhancement of its infulence and popularity in Vietnam market, attracted keen attention and won recognition from the industrial insiders, and laid a more consolidated foundation for its market expansion in the future.
