Weihai IP Administration to Conduct Patent Administrative Law Enforcement Inspection

In order to step up the crackdown on patent violations in drug sales and protect the legitimate rights of patent right holders and consumers, the Weihai IP Administration in Shandong Province established the Taskforce for Patent Administrative Law Enforcement Inspection. This taskforce inspected and took record of over 2000 items of 51 drug stores in Weihai downtown area. Its search identified 23 items with passing off patents and one item with forged patent.

The Weihai IP Administration has always attached great importance to patent law enforcement by combining its daily inspections with periodical crackdowns and investigating and punishing any patent infringements such as passing off patents or patent forgeries. Its public awareness campaigns and strict law enforcement have seen many fruits, among them, patent awareness raised markedly for all businesses in the city's circulation field, patent violations reduced dramatically, the legitimate rights of patent right holders and consumers effectively safeguarded, the market becoming more orderly. These have helped to ensure the healthy and orderly development of patent-related work in Weihai.
