Statistical Informatics Construction and Management Symposium was Convened in Sichuan

Annual meeting of the Informatics Branch of the National Statistical Society of China, and the Statistical Informatics Construction and Management Symposium was convened in SichuanProvince from May 10 to 12. Mr. Dieter Sarreither, head of information technology delegation of Federal Statistical Office Germany (Destatis), Director-General of Department II (Information Technology Management and Mathematics Methodology Department) of Destatis; Ms. Beate Glitza, Senior Officer of Planning and Project Management attended the meeting. Mr. Dieter Sarreither introduced statistical informatics construction and management theories, criterions and experiences of Destatis and State Bureau of Statistics of Germany.

The meeting reviewed and summed up the works in 2004, discussed working plan in 2005. From the consign of Mr. Zhu Xiangdong, Honor President of informatics branch of the National Statistical Society of China, and Deputy Commissioner of NBS, Mr. Xu Tiefu, President of informatics branch of the National Statistical Society of China, and Director-General of Computer Center of NBS, invited representatives to discuss a few important issues related to current statistical informatics construction and management domains. Mr. Xu Tiefu took the lead in gave a speech in medium and long term planning of statistics informatics, resources integration, informatics management system and computer center management system, etc.

Mr. Hu Anrong, Director-General, Mr. Xiong Zuyuan, Deputy Director-General of Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Statistics, and about 80 consultants, vice-presidents, standing directors, directors attended meeting. Mr. Hu Fan, Deputy Director-General of Computer Center of NBS, Standing Vice-President of Informatics Branch presided the meeting.
