Guangzhou's First District-Level IPR Protection Association Established

Recently, the establishment conference of the Liwan District IPR Protection Association of Guangzhou is held to formally announce the establishment of the association.

A social organization specialized in IPR protection in Liwan District, the Association will play an important role in further optimizing regional intellectual innovation environment and constructing Liwan into the best district of IPR protection. Meanwhile, it is the first district-level IPR protection association of Guangzhou.

Zhao Biqiang, Director of Liwan IP Administration, notes at the conference that the goal of establishing Liwan District IPR Protection Association is to provide a platform for various enterprises and institutions to widely exchange experiences and lessons on IPR administration, protection and legal proceedings so as to promote healthy development of IP work in these institutions and enterprises; the patent agencies' roles in enterprise patent application and litigation protection of technology and product right maintenance will be brought into full play to encourage and support associations to launch guild self-discipline and right maintenance activities, support IPR agencies to improve their services, assist law-enforcement departments to handle IPR disputes related to its member units, organize related member units to start legal proceedings under authorization and commission of governmental competent departments, mediate in IPR disputes among its members, organizing services such as IP training, information publicity, consultation and legal affairs, holding IP training classes, seminars and inspection activities so as to improve the comprehensive qualities and business levels of people involved in IPR work.

The conference adopts the Charter of Liwan District IPR Protection Association and elects its chairperson, vice chairpersons and secretary general. More than 50 people from related enterprises and institutions attend the conference.
