Mr. Li Deshui, Commissioner of the National Bureau of Statistics, met with the New Zealand Ambassador to China, Mr. Tony Browne on June 1. Mr. Li gave high comment on the statistical work of New Zealand. He said that Chinese statisticians could learn a lot from New Zealand good statistical practice, such as work organization, coordination with other government agencies, and population-housing census, etc. He also expressed the NBS desire to develop close cooperation with Statistics New Zealand. Mr. Browne expressed the interest in seeing the statistical cooperation between the two countries, and comprehended some related issues of China statistical works. Mr. Feng Nailin, Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation of NBS, attended the meeting. |
