"Weiyi Forum" Held in Yuelu Academy

Representatives conducted a further discussion with guest speakers

The millennium-old Yuelu Academy ushered in the "Weiyi (Unique) Forum" of the High School Attached to Hunan Normal University this Tuesday. Xiao Yongming and another 3 experts of the academy, together with 20 odd faculty representatives from the high school, tried to probe into the cultural development of modern schools based on the tradition of the academy.
The High School Attached to Hunan Normal University was designated as one of four national pilot units nationwide to carry out reform in basic education.
Forums have been held on various themes, namely, the Growth Path of Renowned Teachers, the Chinese Teaching under the Backdrop of New Curriculum Reform, the Connotation and Value of Confucius Core Conception, Our Persistence, the Cultivation of Self-study Capability and Manners, Inspirations from Foreign Education and the College Entrance Examination Composition during the New Curriculum Reform, etc. Expert speakers invited to the symposium came from Hunan University, Hunan Normal University and other famous universities .
