2010 Lishui Oil Painting Exhibition Opened Yesterday

Yesterday morning, 2010 Lishui oil painting exhibition, hosted by the publicity department of the CPC Lishui Municipal Committee and Lishui Municipal Federation of Literary and Art Circles, was opened in Lishui Photography Museum
More than 140 works by 45 Barbizon painters, which reflect the original ecological sceneries and customs of Lishui, are to be displayed. The 9-day exhibition is open free to the public.
In Lishui, Oil Painting is a highly influential art. Ten years ago, groups of Lishui painter, inspired by the French Barbizon School, went to the nature and painted their hometowns. After years of practice, Lishui painting groups, called "Lishui Barbizon painters", have a great impact both inside and outside Zhejiang Province. Over the years, with "Guyan painting village" as the carrier, starting with localization and targeting at life, Lishui Barbizon painters carried out a lot of impressive activities. The population of the groups has been growing, with the activities being innovated and the standards of art works being raised. Especially in recent years, every two years there is a painting event of famous painters in Guyan painting village, an exhibition of Lishui Barbizon painting and a publication of painting works. In building Lishui ecological culture and Oujiang cultural brand, with its unique style, Lishui Barbizon painting has become a distinctive symbol of Lishui local culture.
It is said that the members of Lishui Barbizon painting groups have amounted more than 100 people, whose painting works achieved good results in some exhibitions and exerted great influence both inside and outside Zhejiang Province. Not long ago, Lishui Barbizon painting group won the title of the best visual art creation groups in Zhejiang Province .
