On the afternoon of December 9th, 17 new recruits of Chengdong Street took a solemn oath facing the League flag. They were volunteered to join the communist Youth League of China. On the same day, a farewell meeting was held in Chengdong Street to see off 32 enthusiastic and patriotic youths, who were drafted into the army.
