Guangdong Economic, Trade and Cultural Exchange Delegation led by Huang Huahua, Governor of Guangdong Province, inspected agricultural development and the operation of farmers association in Miaoshu County of Taiwan yesterday, and received warm welcome from Liu Zhenghong, head of Miaoshu County.
After a visit to farmers association in Taihu Area as well as its subordinate Taihu Winery and the demonstration zone of special agricultural products, Huang Huahua said that Taiwan boasts advanced agricultural science and technology and fine agricultural operation mode while Guangdong enjoys rich agricultural resources and huge consumer market. Guangdong and Taiwan could achieve mutual complementarities in agriculture. Guangdong will continue the efforts to build Cross-strait Agricultural Cooperation Pilot Zone and Taiwan Farmers Entrepreneur Park, striving to expand the trade of agricultural products in both sides and promote the cooperation with Taiwan in agriculture.
Liu Zheng said on behalf of Miaoshu County that many Miaoshu residents have come to Guangdong for investment and the economic, trade and agricultural cooperation between Miaoshu and Guangdong are very close. The official signature of ECFA provides a new platform for closer economic and trade cooperation across the straits. As an agricultural county, Miaoshu is ready to enhance agricultural cooperation with Guangdong and create a win-win situation for both sides.
