Vietnam Ministry of Plan and Investment Delegation Visited Shantou

The Delegation of Vietnam Ministry of Plan and Investment visited Shantou on August 24-26. Shantou City has a long history of good relationship with Vietnam. Since Shantou established friendly relationship with Can Tho City of Vietnam in 1994 and officially concluded as sister city with Can Tho City on August 1, 2005, both sides have conducted a number of exchanges and communication activities between senior government and the relevant departments, which continues to strengthen the exchange of tourism, culture, education and other many fields, and promote the bilateral friendship and cooperative relationship.
The Deputy Minister Deng Huidong of Vietnam Ministry of Plan and Investment expressed his appreciation for the achievement of Shantou's economic and social development, and hoped that Vietnam could establish the cooperative relationship with Shantou in respect of the investment and development of port economy and other many aspects in order to enhance the bilateral exchange, create a win-win situation and make greater contributions to the economic development and the well-being to the people of both sides.
