Dongguan has been listed as the 8th Best Emerging Cities for Business in China this year, according to the results of an investigation undertaken by FORTUNE China on September 14.
This is the fifth year that FORTUNE China, a Hong Kong based magazine under the name of Time Inc., has conducted the investigation into the business environment of Chinese cities. However, it is the first time that the magazine released such a report on Chinese emerging cities of which the population is between one and five million.
The assessment system is guided by four key indicators: business environment, business costs, labor supply and quality of life. Rounding out the top 10 cities are Dalian, Qingdao, Suzhou, Shenzhen, Ningbo, Xiamen, Wuxi, Dongguan, Foshan and Kunming.
