Dongguan gains another honor title for its years of effort in environmental protection, Dongguan Daily reported on December 13.
Dongguan was awarded with the title of "Ten Green Cities of China" by the 3rd China International Forum on Green Development on December 12 in Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan Province.
The award was based on a comparison of 60 Chinese cities in urban air quality, urban environmental management, water use efficiency, waste disposal rate, urban greening and environmental regulations and policies implementation. The Chinese cities which were given the honor are Kunming, Zhangjianggang, Yichun, Zhangjiang, Puer, Jiangchuan and Dongguan.
China International Forum on Green Development is under the permission of national ministries and commissions, has been held successfully in the Standing Committee Hall of Great Hall of the People in the past two years. Guided by UNEP,UNDP and FAO. The Forum is not only a platform for national green image, but also providing a wide range of communication channels for many environmental resolutions of the United Nations.
