Guancheng's Cultural Square is a popular leisure place covering an area of 93,000 square meters. Recently, some residents are surprised to find a bold sign in its fountain area which said "Emergency Airfield".
"Can airplanes land on here?" It is really a novelty to many people. Even many related departments in Guancheng District are staggered to hear that, Dongguan Times reported Wednesday (Mar.9).
The riddle was finally solved by the Office of Party and Government Affairs in Guancheng. "It is a truly tarmac to be used in the event of an emergency, and it will not open to private aircrafts."
"However, no flight has ever made landing here," the official added.
