Dongguan Public Security Bureau has announced that a new arrangement for the entry of Taiwan residents visiting Dongguan would be introduced from tomorrow (March 1, 2011).
Under the existing arrangement, holders of "Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents", commonly known as "Tai Bao Zheng", must come to the public security bureau twice if they need an entry/exit endorsement or replacement of a new "Tai Bao Zheng".
Under the new arrangement, holders of "Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents" can obtain this service through mailing their "Tai Bao Zheng" and other documents to the public security bureau by EMS, a mail service offered by China Post. The public security will issue the permit in five working days, and China Post will deliver the permit to its holder in one working day.
An public security bureau spokesperson said the change would further facilitate Taiwan residents visiting or living in Dongguan for business or pleasure.
