The 102-floor Famous Furniture HQ Building in Houjie, Dongguan City
The 102-floor Famous Furniture HQ Building in Houjie, to start construction on March 10, will replace the 68-floor Global Trade Plaza (formerly called Taiwan Business Building) to be the tallest building in Dongguan so far.
The tower in the shape of a sword will located in the middle of Guangdong Modern International Exhibition Center and opposite the 230 meter-high Regal Palace Hotel.
The concrete height of the skyscraper is still under calculation. The tower will be one-floor lower than Guangzhou International Finance Center and as high as Shenzhen s Kingkey Finance Center. According to the average height of each floor, the building is estimated to rank among the highest in South China, insiders from the Famous Furniture Club said.
The Famous Furniture Garden project where the tower locates will cover an area of one million square meters. Its first phase including the Famous Furniture HQ Building and a series of new exhibition halls is set to be completed and put into use in the March of 2012.
Currently, more than 40 U. S. and European furniture companies have purposed to move into the Famous Furniture HQ Building and new exhibition halls.
