Vice-Rector of Belgium VUB Visits Tongji

On the afternoon of June 9th, Vice-President Prof. Dong Qi met with the Vice-Rector of Belgium VUB Prof. Jean-Pierre de Greve and his colleague Mr. Gunter Gaublomme, responsible for its Brussels Institute of Contemporary China Studies (BICCS).

Prof. Dong made a brief introduction on Tongji, including the international master/bachelor programs and 8 general courses about China given in English, active involvement in Shanghai Expo, internationalization mainly with European partner universities, and thanked VUB for their having accepted our 5 students in law within the framework of EMECW LOT14 program. Prof. de Greve introduced VUB, their joint preparation of engineering courses given in English with ULB. The two sides agreed on developing student-exchange, reinforcing bilateral cooperation in the program of training elite engineers and the forum of Sino-European universities to be held in this fall, and deepening the Sino-Belgium/Europe cooperation in research.
