Chief of BICCS visited Tongji University

On July 12th, Dr. Gustaaf Geeraerts,politics professor of Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB)and chief of Brussels Institute of Contemporary China Studies (BICCS), visited the College of Politics and International Relations, Tongji University. Prof. Xia Liping, dean of the College of Politics and International Relations, and Prof. Yang Ye, chairman of the Europe Research Center, met with Prof. Gustaaf Geeraerts. Two sides discussed about the issues of Sino-EU relations and EU integration, as well as the cooperation between our College of Politics and International Relations and BICCS in the future.

VUB is one of the most famous university in Belgium, located in Brussels, the capital of Belgium Kingdom. There are nearly 10,000 students, 600 professors and 800 researchers. BICCS was established in the April, 2006, and its studies includes various fields such as contemporary China and European economics, politics, diplomatics, culture, society, and law.

The main research fields of Dr. Gustaaf are international relations theory, global governance, European and East Asian security issues, and etc. Currently, he is devoting to the post-positivist International Relations Theory.
