From July 24th to 28th, Dr. Tran Dinh Lan, deputy director of Institute of Marine Environment and Resources (IMER), Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), led a delegation to visit our State Key Laboratory of Marine Geology. The two sides reviewed the implementation of the existing cooperation memorandum, and reached new consensus in research cooperation, personnel training, and etc. Then, the delegation visited the laboratory and deep ocean museum with great interest.
IMER is one of the four institutes of Vietnamese science academy related to ocean. It is located in the northern bay, Haiphong city of northwest side, and is mainly engaged in the marine environment and ecological research. This February, the institute signed an agreement with our State Key Laboratory of Marine Geology to become Vietnam s fourth scientific unit cooperated with our laboratory.
