President Hamada said that the Tsinghua Week at Todai would be a milestone in the cooperation between the two renowned institutions. He noted that twenty-five years ago Todai and Tsinghua University undertook a cooperative partnership on the basis of their shared values. The two institutions, both of which have been devoted to making contributions to social and economic development, will certainly play more important roles in science and research in the future.

President Gu said that because Tsinghua University inaugurated its centenary celebration year on April 25, the opening of Tsinghua Week at Todai has a special significance. He expressed the hope that the event would not only further enhance cooperation between Tsinghua and Todai but also be a platform for further strengthening friendship between their faculty members and students.

During Tsinghua Week at Todai, there will be 22 themed forums covering such fields as public safety, frontier science, sustainable development, and humanities and social sciences, providing opportunities for faculty members and students to communicate and strengthen academic ties.

An exhibition Education & Architecture Studies, Tsinghua University will be held from May 12 to 15 at the University of Tokyo.
