The 7th International Forum on Confucianism opens at RUC

The 7th International Forum on Confucianism was held at RUC with the theme of Confucian Thoughts and Social Governance from Dec. 4th to 5th, 2010. More than 120 scholars from China, South Korea, Japan, the USA, Canada and other over 10 countries and regions participated in the forum and discussed about the ways of social governance from Confucian thoughts.

The Chinese Vice Minister of Education Hao Ping, RUC President Ji Baocheng, Senior Vice President Yuan Wei, Secretary General of the Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies Kim Jae Youl, Former President of Waseda University Mr. Nishihara Haruo, President of The Confucian Academy of Hong Kong Tong Yun Kai, Dean of RUC Institute of Confucianism Studies Zhang Liwen and President of Hua xia Publishing House Gao Wenzhu attended the forum.

RUC President Ji Baocheng delivered a welcome speech. He believed that as a valuable cultural heritage, the Confucian thoughts should be cherished and practiced into our daily life for better governing the modern society.

Secretary General of the Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies Kim Jae Youl, President of The Confucian Academy of Hong Kong Tong Yun Kai, and Dean of RUC Institute of Confucianism Studies Zhang Liwen gave their keynote speeches respectively.

The 7th International Forum on Confucianism opens at RUC

The International Forum on Confucianism is co-organized by Renmin University of China and the Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies, and jointly held by RUC School of Philosophy, School of Chinese Studies, the RUC Institute of Confucianism Studies and the RUCAsiaResearchCenter. Initiated in 2004, the forum is an annually held and becoming increasingly influential in the world. The releasing ceremony of The International Ruzang (The International Confucian Canon) edited by RUC was also held on the forum.
