Team from PKU School of Arts Won 2 Awards and 10 nominations in Golden Sugarcane Film Festival

Peking University, Beijing, March 14th, 2009: On the night of 24th Jan, at the Golden Sugarcane Film Festival award ceremony, short film "Si Fan" given by PKU team earned 10 nominations, including best male actor, best female actor, best film, best cinematography, best editing and best director. The film was honored "Best Original Script" and "Special Jury Award".

PKU delegation is the only team came from mainland. Delegation was led by master students of Art Department Ma Jun, Zhang Chao, Kuang Zi, Sun Bo, Zheng Yuan Zhen, graduates Wang Yilan and some other members. The team's success attracted the media. Medias like TVBS interviewed members of PKU team.

Golden Sugarcane Film Festival is the most influential short film exhibition in Taiwan. And it is the first "on-site shot, on-site post-production, on-site screenings, on-site award"exhibition. 20 teams were chosen as candidates to shot and produce their film in Qiao Zaitou, Kaohsiung from January 17th to 23rd.

PKU team got strong support from the PKU Office for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs. By participating in the event, PKU team established a good image and took the first step to exchange ideas face-to-face with the students from Tai Wan.
