Ten Internship Bases of Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Authorized by PKU League Committee

Peking University, Beijing, Mar. 3rd, 2009: The signing ceremony of the Internship Bases of Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship, set up by the Communist Youth League Peking University (PKU) Committee, was held in the New Chemistry South Building on the morning of February 27.There were ten units and companies, including the Communist Youth League Yubei District of Chongqing City Committee, the Organization Department of Nanan District of Chongqing City, the Organization Department of Quanzhou City of Fujian Province, the Organization Department of Zhangzhou City of Fujian Province, the Talent Exchange Center of Zhejiang Province, the Organization Department of Taizhou City of Zhejiang Province, the Talent Development Office of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, the Human Resources Department of China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), the Human Resources Department of Nanfang Daily Media Group, and the Communist Youth League Committee of Xinxing Pipes Group, signing the cooperation agreement of the Youth Internship Base of Employment and Entrepreneurship with the Communist Youth League PKU Committee.

The representatives of these ten units, such as Zhang Shaoxin, Minister of the Organization Department of Yubei District of ChongqingCity, Hu Gang, Vice-Secretary of Yubei District Committee etc. attended the ceremony.Also presented there were Prof. Wu Zhipan, Vice-Secretary of CPC PKU Committee, Prof. Han Liu, Secretary of the Communist Youth League PKU Committee, Prof. Chen Yongli, Dean of PKU Student Career Center, and some other staff of PKU.Shi Shanfeng, Vice-Secretary of the Communist Youth League PKU Committee emceed this ceremony.

In the beginning, Prof. Wu Zhipan expressed a warm welcome and sincere appreciation to the presented gusts from the cooperating units on behalf of PKU committees and administration.He pointed out that the employment problem has become an important issue for not only the PKU students, but also the party committees, governments, and different colleges because of the influence of the international financial crisis which has made the employment situation extremely worse currently.The Youth Internship Base of Employment and Entrepreneurship will help the young students accumulate work experience and enhance their entrepreneurial capacities and confidence which can lay good foundations for their future based on the talent advantages of PKU.In the mean time, the base can provide a new way for the local construction and enterprise development and also set up a good platform for the relevant units to select appropriate employees.He expressed that the successful foundation and smooth operation of the base can not leave the hard work and close coordination of the two sides and the continued support form the CPC PKU committee and the administration.He hoped that the Communist Youth League PKU Committee and other units can promote the cooperation to build a good base by exploiting their own advantages for both the students and the employers.

On behalf of the cooperation units, Minister Zhang Shaoxin made a speech.He expressed that the foundation of the youth internship base is a practical project which can bring advantages for both the colleges and the companies, an important measure which can benefit the youth, and also giving great support and help to the local economic and social development.He said Yubei District will do its best to promote the construction and management of the base, deepen the cooperation with PKU, and create a model internship base at the central and western regions for the PKU students to display their talent and abilities.

Prof. Han Liu signed the cooperation agreement with the cooperating units on behalf of PKU.This is the good beginning of the official cooperation between the two sides and a crucial step in the foundation of long-term cooperation mechanism as well.After the signing ceremony, the representatives from cooperating units visited the major attractions of PKU accompanied by the staffers of the Communist Youth League PKU Committee.

It is learned that the foundation of this first ten Youth Internship Base of Employment and Entrepreneurship has gained the support from PKUStudentCareerCenter.Facing the severe employment situation and urgent requirements of the students, the PKU Communist Youth League and StudentCareerCenter have worked together to explore effective ways to improve the employment environments for the students.For the next step, they will set up this kind of bases in Beijing, Jiangsu, Henan, Shandong, Guangxi and Shaanxi.
