From March 16-23, Vice Mayor Sun Guangtian led a group of persons-in-charge from relevant departments to Wafangdian, Puliandian, Zhuanghe, Jinzhou New Area, L shunkou and Ganjingzi for inspection of the spring land preparation and the implementation of Dalian s Rural Work Conference, as well as the Meeting of Spring Afforestation.
In 2011, Dalian will develop 100,000 mu of agricultural facilities, build 35 large agricultural facility areas of greenhouses, 300,000 mu of standardized high-quality orchards, 6 large flower industrial parks and 10 scaled flower production bases; establish a new multi-center, network, group-type and chain-like township system; set up 10 new communities, 20 new farms, and start up six key points engineering in 80 new villages; strengthen rural infrastructure to improve rural production and living environment; initiate greening projects in new urban and rural areas with completion of 6,882 projects and 117.5 hectares of green areas.
Sun requested that all the agriculture-related counties and towns focus on large projects of demonstrable significance to drive the development of smaller agricultural facility areas and to increase farmers income; all localities should mobilize forces to start up a campaign of large-scale afforestation with good quality and quantity, practically carry out design plans of greening, take into account green landscaping and various economic factors to improve people s living conditions.
