Announcement No. 2 for the Seventieth Anniversary of Yan an University

It is a heyday, and rightly in autumn; the country is strong, and the people live peacefully; the scholarship is prosperous, and the university is thriving. On September 20^th, 2008, Yan an University, the first comprehensive university founded by the Communist Party of China, will hold celebration for her 70^th anniversary. Thanks to the great majority of our faculty and students as well as our alumni at home and abroad and personages from all sectors of the society, preparation for the celebration has entered the last stage systematically.

During the celebration, at 9 in the morning of September 22^nd, YAU will hold the celebration meeting. Then, ceremonies for signing agreements of cooperation with domestic and foreign universities, presidents forum, and the evening party for celebration will follow one by one. On 23^rd, we will hold public lectures by well-known experts at home and from abroad as well as alumni, exhibitions of painting and calligraphy, recitals, visitation to the Museum of University History, the Museum of Northern Shaanxi Folk Custom, the Museum of Luyao Literature, and scenic sites around Yan an city; we will also hold a symposium of represents of excellent alumni, the 18^th fraternity meeting of alumni from allover the country, commending meeting for outstanding alumni workers, as well as an evening party on the public square. At the same time, colleges will hold similar activities. Registration for the celebration will be carried out on the 21^st, and the represents will leave on the 24^th one after another.

We are earnestly expecting our alumni, leaders, and personages from all sectors to gather happily at YAU for the occasion, discussing development, and doing a brilliant job together. We ardently welcome our alumni and friends from all sectors to come and inquire for the relevant information, suggesting ways and means for the anniversary celebration, making valuable suggestions, and supporting the construction projects in honor of the anniversary celebration.
