December 10- A delegation from the Confucius Institute at the Catholic University of Santa Maria visited GDUFS on December 7th and was welcomed by the Vice-President of GDUFS, Shi Youqi. The meeting was attended by many distinguished guests such as the Foreign President of the Confucius Institute, Jaime Amado La Rosa, and the Chinese President, Li Li.

To start off the meeting, Shi Youqi outlined basic information about GDUFS, focusing on the campus and the teachers. He illustrated that GDUFS has fostered relationships with universities from more than 20 countries and regions. As well, GDUFS has also founded three Confucius Institutes in Peru, Japan and Russia. He went onto state that the Confucius Institute of the Catholic University of Santa Maria has played a role in facilitating cultural interaction between Peru and China. He also mentioned that GDUFS sent students to Russia and he expressed his hope that students and teachers from the GDUFS Art College will have an opportunity to visit the Catholic University of Santa Maria in the coming year.
Jaime Amado La Rosa introduced the Confucius Institute and stated that he viewed the institute as a chance to enlarge teaching scale and deepen academic exchange. He also spoke highly of the Chinese President of the Confucius Institute Li Li, for her positive contributions. In addition, he talked about the summer study tour that involved students from the Catholic University of Santa Maria visiting GDUFS. "Students learned Chinese while experiencing Chinese culture and they gained a lot from that."
Both sides exchange gifts
Jaime Amado La Rosa visited the GDUFS Foreign Student College on the morning of December 7th and spent time discussing with leader and teacher representatives that afternoon. It was a busy trip as the delegation did not only just stop at the GDUFS s northern campus, but they also took the time to visit the southern campus as well.
