Write: Hector [2011-05-20]

On the afternoon of Oct. 26, the four-person delegation from Kyoto Institute of Technology consisting of Vice-President Shigeru Kunugi and Director Yoshii Tsutomu in charge of student affairs at the Center of International Exchange paid a visit to ZSTU. ZSTU Vice-President Zhu Zefei and officials from International Exchange & Cooperation Division and Faculty of Materials and Textiles, had a meeting with the delegation.

At the meeting, Mr. Zhu extended great welcome to the delegation and gave a brief demonstration to the accomplishments that ZSTU has achieved in the latest two years in terms of the scale, discipline construction, talent education, and academic research. The delegation rendered great attention to the demonstration and held heated discussions with ZSTU staff with regard to further exchange and cooperation. After the meeting, President Qiu Songliang had a friendly talk with the delegation.

KIT and ZSTU started their cooperation in 2003 and have hitherto developed great friendship. Through this visit, the delegation intended to send an employee from KIT Center of International Exchange to have a two-week internship at ZSTU International Exchange & Cooperation Division and Foreign Student Affairs Office. As the employee is to be involved in ZSTU international students enrollment and administration affairs and collegiate exchange and cooperation, the two universities are expected to reinforce their mutual understanding and carry on more efficient cooperations in such areas as student exchange program, faculty exchange program and cooperative research.

ZSTU gave consent to the internship of the KIT employee, which opens up new prospects for the administration-level exchange and cooperation with foreign universities.
