Flag-raising ceremony & the Youth Declaration Publicizing Meeting magnificently held

At 7a.m., 30th September, the stadium saw a special moment and a grand I love my motherland flag-raising ceremony & the Youth Declaration Publicizing Meeting was held here. Fei Junqing, the Secretary of the Party Committee and Chen gang, Assistant Secretary of the Party Committee, were present at the ceremony together with personnel from the Party Publicity Department, the Party Study & Work Affairs Department, the Graduate Students Affairs Division of Party Committee, Youth League Committee of ZSTU and more than 2,000 students from 14 colleges on Xiasha Campus.

This activity was organized by the Youth League Committee and the Students Union of ZSTU. All the teachers and the students present there, preparing to bid the country a happy anniversary, witnessed the stately flag-raising ceremony and listened respectfully to the brilliant youth declarations.

In a solemn silence, all the teachers and the students present saluted the Five-Starred Red Flag with eyes while the flag, accompanied by the majestic national anthem, rose slowly and flew high in the stadium.

Afterwards in the Youth Declaration Publicizing Meeting, writers who stood out amid the Youth Declarations Collecting Activity for their most touching , most inspiring , most passionate and most simple youth declarations came onto the stage and read loudly the declarations they wrote themselves. In the meantime, unfolded before the audience four banners printed with the contents of the declarations. The combination of the first character of each banner read ZuGuoWanSui which meant Long Live Our Motherland, pushing the atmosphere to a climax.

Fei Junqing made a speech. He said that it was meaningful to celebrate the coming 60th anniversary of our motherland in this way. He added that it would strengthen young students love for the country and their sense of responsibility in serving the society and invigorating the nation. He encouraged the students at large to make contributions to the revival and rejuvenation of their motherland. He also hoped that the youth declarations would be etched on the mind of every student, prodding them to commit their youth time to repaying the motherland.

In the flag-conferring ceremony, Chen Gang handed a red flag printed with the words reciprocating the motherland, devoting your youth time to a student representative. Meanwhile, 14 red flags were seen dancing off-stage, echoing with the red flag on-stage. A continuous and deafening applause pervaded the whole stadium.

Many students expressed their happiness in attending such a meaningful celebratory event and enunciated their determination to work and study with full enthusiasm and energy to devote their youth and wisdom to their motherland in the future.

In order to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the country, an I love my motherland Youth Declarations Collecting Activity was launched by the Youth League Committee and the Students Union on the whole campus to channel and encourage young students to express their love for the motherland. More than 3000 youth declarations with true feelings and emotions, created by individuals and some Youth League branches and dormitories, were collected by way of short messages, e-mails and on-spot collecting groups. Some of them were simple, some touching, inspiring and impassioned, yet every one of them showcased the students vigorous vitality, their everlasting love as well as sincere wishes for the motherland.
